Biography

Dr Chaitanya Joshi is a Senior Lecturer in the Statistics Department at the University of Waikato. He is currently developing efficient Bayesian methods using the low discrepancy sequences and his recent modelling work includes a novel predictive model in Ecology called Traitspace (and an R package of the same name), as well as work in Epidemiology and Cyber Security.

His research interests are computational Bayesian methods and statistical modelling (of complex real life problems) and his work with CROW involves research into anomaly detection in Cloud computing environments.

Dr Joshi has a BSc from Mumbai University, a Masters Degree in Statistics from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur and completed his PhD at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland in 2011.
